Limbolism

Here is a Limbolist picture I've painted few years ago with a godforsaken computer program.

For Elliot (two)

And these are from my "Think Like Rembrandt" period.

For Elliot (one)

This is a picture from my "Think Like Picasso" period.

All In Line

Presumptuously, some years ago I started a sketch book I called "Why Steinberg?". In it I tried to draw like as if I was Saul Steinberg (Yes...I know, dont laugh too hard!...Borges writes about Pierre Menard, a frenchman of the Twentieth Century who tries to write Don Quijote as if he was Cervantes!) My rules were to look at a Steinberg's book, close it and try to draw like Steinberg without copying it directly...Just trying to "think" like him...It was a failure but it was great fun. Highly recommended to test your mind and hand.

Animal Verses Human

Today I finished (I believe) all the drawings for this book of verses by Ken Mullen. I've been working on and off on this for many years. It'll be published early in 2006.

Castelli Animati

More photos. Mr and Mrs Peter Lord, Daniel Greaves. Mrs Grillo from behind, Borge Ring. John Canemaker and Liz Fairs (translator extraordinaire!)

Old friends

I am back from Italy were I had a great time. First I've been to an animation festival in Genzano and then I went to Naples (I loved it!) back to Rome for one night and then to home in London.
In the festival I had the pleasure of meeting again old friends and having long and wonderful conversations with colleagues at tables. I was particularily happy to see again the great Danish animator Borge Ring.
Here is a photo of Borge, his wife Joanika and me.

More Furry Animals

I'll be in Italy for a week.I'll keep posting on my return. Check

Jazz a la Carte

I am always sketching images that could be an inspiration for an animation idea. I drew these with no particular purpose but they ended in the studio's showreel titles.

It can be seen here:

These were for a projected animated film based on a third Alice's adventure...There is a substantial piece of animatic completed. I'll post somed more images in the future.

Marv

I am periodically graced by postcards handrawn by Canadian animator Marv Newland. I have already a very nice collection. Here are two of them.

Paris

I cannot find words to express how much I like this picture by Andre Francois from the late fifties. To me says more about Paris than any photograph can. Wonderful!

Little Furry Animals

Illustrations I drew for "Everyday a Small Victory" by Chips Hardy.

To be published in 2006

Snailia

These images are for a children's picture book I want to make. Is there an intelligent publisher who wants to publish it? Let me know.
