These drawings were made for the exhibition I had in the Palais de Glace in 2003. They depict "Dulle Griet" (Mad Margaret) a character from the Flemish tradition, painted by Brueghel and used by Bertolt Brecht as a model for "Mother Courage".
Dulle Griet symbolises greed. I transfered this character to my native city, Buenos Aires, at a time of economic turmoil.

ReplyDelete....did you pose for the picture, It's nice to see you at work. I have a drafting table I never use, I prefer a big table such as the one you are using, wish I had more space.
Tnat is the table were we have dinner...I have to clear up to eat.

Check Brueghel's original..One of the greatest paintings ever.

ReplyDeleteDelu...Lindo volverte a oir!...Vi la portada del libro de Cneut..No me parece que me guste mucho lo que vi...Con Helnwein tengo una relacion ambivalente..Es muy buen tecnico pero no estoy absolutamente seguro de su plastica ni de su vision...Un triste comico.
